In other news, Walt Disney Studios (Disneyland: Paris) had their grand opening for their newest ride, The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror (aka Hollywood Tower Hotel).

So far, four out of the five Disney parks have this ride - however, the one in Tokyo is called something different because they don't have The Twilight Zone in Japan. There are some awesome pictures over at the Disney and More blog - however, if you haven't ridden the ride and you don't want it spoiled for you ... I would suggest leaving the photo tour out of your daily schedule. :)

Although her official Web site claims it'll be released today, on November 13th, Ashley Tisdale's DVD -- which includes three music-videos and a documentary of the-making-of her album, Headstrong -- There's Something About Ashley: The Story So Far has already been released A WEEK EARLY. According to amazon.com, the DVD was released on Nov. 6, and people have been popping up everywhere, claiming to have seen it. Therefore, if you don't want to "pre-order" it from Ashley's official Web site, you can hop on over to amazon.com and purchse your copy there! ... 'Tis the season ... already?!

Thanksgiving hasn't even come and gone yet, but Disney has already decided to film its Christmas parade and Christmas special at Walt Disney World this past Saturday.

At the Walt Disney Christmas Parade, the cast-members of High School Musical 2 including Corbin Bleu, Vanessa Hudgens, Monique Coleman, and Ashley Tisdale performed a cute Christmas version (with interestingly altered lyrics) of "What Time Is It?" You can check it out below! :)

Pixar Projects: According to Lasseter

It's official! John Lasseter, Pixar's chief creative officer, has not only confirmed that PIxar will, indeed, be going ahead with TOY STORY 3, but also that he will be directing it himself!

Lasseter has also confirmed that the Pixar film after Wall-E will be a film titled UP, and will be "a big action adventure starring an 80 year old man," which is set to be released the same year Pixar's new 2-D animated film, The Princess and the Frog, will in 2009. Toy Story 3 is projected to be released in 2010, while Wall-E hits theatres on June 27, 2008.

It's not such a small world, after all...

Although it has been around for 41 years, Disneyland theme-ride, "It's A Small World" will be shutting down starting January 2008. Disney employees say the ride will be closing for maintenance, or more specifically, "the fiberglass build up" from the constant scraping of the bottom of the boat with the bottom of the ride, but really, reports say that it is actually the expanding waist line that is causing the need for this maintenance.

Disney plans to deepen the ride (so that the boat, carrying overweight passengers, is less likely to touch the bottom of the ride and cause blockages). It has been reported that this "maintenance" will take up to 10 months. Click here for the full story.

Speaking of maintenance - Disney will be spending over $1 billion in renovating Disneyland's sister-theme-park, CALIFORNIA ADVENTURES. Although they don't want to admit it, California Adventures hasn't been thriving as well as they hoped - possibly for its existing in the shadow of the ever-so-popular Disneyland. Waiting for Ever, Ever After

I feel like I've been waiting FOREVER for the newest partially animated/live-action Disney movie, ENCHANTED to come out! And although movie soundtracks usually hit stores a little earlier than the movie hits theaters, the soundtrack for ENCHANTED won't be released until just ONE day before its theatrical release. However, as a little teaser, the Disney Web site has put up a music video for a song that American Idol winner CARRIE UNDERWOOD recorded for the movie called, "Ever, Ever After". Everybody live 'cause the future is now...!

Hey guys-

I'M BACK! These past few months have been really crazy/hectic for me - I've been working as an Editorial Intern at a local newspaper, and trying to keep myself afloat in this high-stress/fast-paced world of Journalism meant that I had to work extra hard to impress my editors and be the best that I could be; this caused me to shirk my responsibilities as a Disney blogger, and for this, I deeply appologize.

I must also admit that the announcement that DISNEY ADVENTURES would publish its last issue this November, on its 17th birthday, broke my heart. My whole entire life - the sole reason for the extistence of this blog - was based around my dream of one day becoming the editor of that magazine.

This may seem a little bit cheesy, but after re-watching MEET THE ROBINSONS again on DVD (and listening to The Jonas Brothers' Kids of the Future for the millionth time), I realized that my life was that of GOOB, and if I didn't let go of the sadness I felt for the end of a magazine, I would end up becoming THIS dude (aka Bowler Hat Guy):

As Walt Disney once said, "Around here, however, we don’t look backwards for very long. We keep moving forward, opening up new doors and doing new things… and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths."

The End of the Hype

Hey guys-

One final HSM tidbit before moving on to other Disney news. The NEW YORK TIMES, as well as other major news-broadcasting outlets are stating that the Friday premiere of High School Musical 2 produced the LARGEST single-audience in the HISTORY of cable television with a whopping... 17.2 MILLION VIEWERS. Keep in mind, there were probably a few hundred HSM2 parties going on, so this number should probably be a little bit higher if you multiply each television set by 10! HSM2: The Review

Do not believe a word that Entertainment Weekly is spewing about the newest Disney Channel Original Movie. If you liked the first installment of High School Musical, you will absolutely adore the second! And if you hated it? You will still be one of many in the crowds to mock the cheesy dialogue and roll your eyes at the plot, but the musical numbers will, nonetheless, get your foot tapping and lure your inner-child into a full swing. Although the plot is a carbon copy of all-things-teen-romatic-comedy, there were a few changes to make this movie a little more captivating.

The first movie was filmed and based around the social hierarchy within a typical high school, East High, but this time around, the surroundings are at Sharpay's summer country-club, and the Wildcats are no longer searching for popularity... this time, their jobs, and ultimately, their futures, are at stake. And instead of competing for the starring roles in their high school's winter musical, the Wildcats are now going at it to win the Star Dazzle award for the country club's annual talent show.

So basically, the second movie is the original with a few tweeks. This then makes you wonder...what did director, Kenny Ortega do differently to make High School Musical 2 a winning formula?

The secret ingredient: Sharpay, Sharpay... SHARPAY!!

In the first installment of High School Musical, Sharpay Evans, and her brother, Ryan, (portrayed by Ashley Tisdale and Lucas Grabeel), were used soley for the purpose of comic relief. Their characters were also needed to create the plot by causing conflict between the stars of the movie, Troy Bolton (Zac Efron), and Gabriella Montez (Vanessa Anne Hudgens). This time around, it seems as if all of the roles changed. Gabriella and Troy are the ones that are needed for the sole purpose of plot, while Ryan is still used for comic relief.

However, in HSM2, Sharpay steals the entire show and is not only the star of the movie, but also IS the movie. Her flamboyant actions, her shrill giggles, and her wittily, cheap remarks are what drive the audience into a fit of captivated amusement and laughter. Some might say that Tisdale's acting is a little too over-the-top, but it sure beats Hudgens's bland, dry, and pathetic character, or shall we say, CAMEOS. Her only believable scene in the movie is when she manages to pinch out one, lonely tear, while singing her ever-so-cliche lonely-girl-song, which I admit, was beautifully touching! However, her song pales in comparisson to Sharpay's first solo musical number, FABULOUS:

Also, for all you CORBIN BLEU fans, it is sad to say that his character, Chad, did not make the final cut into the movie. Oh, wait... he did? That's right! He shared a duet with Ryan in the "Get'cha Head In The Game"-like musical number, "I Don't Dance," which was only bearable because of Ryan's contagious, and humorous, character. Other than that piece, most scenes containing Chad remains entirely forgetable and unamusing. The same goes for Monique Coleman's character, and the pop-and-lock-girl/Mr. Creme-Brulee!

Although the cast of HSM2 tries to close the movie with another uplifting "Breaking Free" moment, followed by a positively inspiring unification song like the previous, "We're All In This Together," because Ortega tried to highlight more characters in this movie, the respective numbers, "Everyday" and "All For One" were a little too hectic and disorderly to fully enjoy, aesthetically speaking. However, the numbers were extremely catchy and left you singing while the credits rolled. However, unlike the previous movie, the highlight of High School Musical 2 came with Sharpay's rendition of Troy and Gabriella'a melodically beautiful duet, "You Are The Music In Me."

Overall, if you're looking for an amusing, comical, feel-good movie, (and if you don't mind a few cheesy moments and horrible dialogue), High School Musical 2 is the flick just for you!

Main Course: Ratatouille... Dessert? Ice Cream!!

I start my first day of work at The Palo Alto Weekly today! But before that happens, let's start off with a few interesting tidbits of Disney news.

For those of you who have seen Pixar's RATATOUILLE, do you recall the scene where Remy's dad shows him the rat-trap-shop-of-doom? I remember while I was seeing that scene, I thought to myself, "That's really gross.. thank God it's just in a movie!" Well, I was WRONG! That shop in the movie is based on an actual rat-trap shop, in Paris, whose window display has been like that since 1925! Apparently, the movie has made the shop, today, a highly visited tourist attraction! Click here for the full article!

In other food related news, in order to celebrate MARY POPPINS on Broadway, a Manhattan dessert shop, Serendipity 3, has created an ice-cream special called the Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious Sundae.

"Try a scoop of strawberry ice cream in a goblet with a slice of cheesecake under a sweet strawberry topping and clouds of whipped cream drizzled with caramel sauce. It's decorated with an umbrella hovering above a chocolate wafer chim-chimney."

This dessert is going for a whopping $13.50; although I'm not so sure about paying that much for ice-cream, this concotion sounds absolutely DELICIOUS!! The Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious Sundae will only be available for a limited time, so hurry and try a bite!

What's up? I'm finally back in action! These past couple of months have been CRAZY! I've been all over the world, including Tanzania, Kenya, Morocco, Egypt, Spain, and Portugal. Everything was beautiful, and Africa really reminded me of The Lion King. Anyways, let's get to it!

MTV Movie Awards: Video Roundup

Hey guys-

I've got a final exam today at 4, so I have to keep it short! To begin with, here's a little something I read this morning that I'm excited for...except for the fact that it'll cost around $3,000-$7,000!! The Times did a piece in their newspaper yesterday about Tinker Bell and never-seen-before sketches that have just been uncovered. These sketches will be added to a book, Disney Opus, which is projected to be released in October of next year. This Opus, written by Kraken Opus, will include many never-seen-before sketches, even ones that Walt Disney drew in his childhood. I, myself, would love to get my hands on a copy of this book, but it'll cost me an arm and a leg to pay for it! Click here for the complete article.

Did anyone catch the MTV Movie Awards last night? Besides Sara Silverman's HI-LARIOUS opening monologue (which I would recommend that you check out if you're over the age of 13), High School Musical's Zac Efron was a presenter for the Best Movie category, which didn't show up until the very END of the awards show. MAIN STREET AMERICA. Sound familiar? Probaly because it is almost the same, exact name as Disney's MAIN STREET U.S.A.. Plans have just been announced that the Axiom Entertainment of Rochester is planning on developing a $106 million theme park aptly titled Main Street America. Supposedly, they have nothing to do with Disney, but I could only speculate as to how they might be just another theme park, trying to make some money off of a certain Disney likeness... hmmmm... PIXAR, along with Escape Studios, is planning on releasing ANIMATION TOOLS that will help educate the public on how to use RENDERMAN, which is what PIXAR uses on their animation. Today marks the first day of June... and you know what that means! That's right! The new DISNEY ADVENTURES is out! I actually picked my own copy up last week, but now that it's June, you can now start using the calendar, and all the dates finally make sense! This issue, like May's issue, is another movie issue. There are articles, and exclusive interviews, pertaining to Ratatouille, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Shrek 3, and Johnny Kapahala: Back on Board!! As it advertises on the cover, this is the ULTIMATE PIRATES issue with a few multipaged spreads! In this issue, there is also a fantastic reading list; today, I actually bought one of the books, Vampirates, and it seems quite interesting so far. So pick up your own own June issue today!

When you were little, what images came to mind when you thought about your grandma? Although everyone is different, I'm guessing when you think about Grandma, you think of fresh-baked cookies, love, and warmth in a cozy, little house. I remember for my final English examination in 10th grade, my teacher saw that we were all burnt out from all our other classes, so she decided that instead of making us write another lousy essay, she would throw us a party and let our "creative" inner selves fly as we watched The Wizard of Oz while listening to Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon. Seeing that finals are coming up for many of you (and for me as well), here's a little something to get you over your lumps. I now present to you:

In non-Disney (but somewhat related) news... UNIVERSAL STUDIOS has won the rights to the Harry Potter theme park named "The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Universal Studios has been losing visitors since 2004, and this is probably their way of trying to gain back their customers (since those commercials that report that buying a week-long-ticket to Universal Studios is cheaper than one day at Disneyworld didn't work!) Pirates of the Caribbean: At Girl's Pen

Hey guys-

Here's the moment you've all been waiting for ... (well, at least some of you)...

PIRATES of the CARIBBEAN: AT WORLDS END: (No spoilers!)

If you're too lazy to read the whole review, just listen to this one thing: STAY through the credits!! I ALWAYS sit through the credits to every movie I watch, but there were about four people left with me in the theatre to witness a BONUS, VERY IMPORTANT mini-scene!! You'll definitely enjoy it... and it'll make you feel a little better about the ending!!

As for the movie IN GENERAL? This third installment is DARKER AND more violent than the last two, so if you're a kid under the age of 13, your parents definitely need to be the ones you watch it with! The opening scene was extremely sad/touching, but also morbid in a way. The sword fights were a lot more graphic; many times, you see people being stabbed through the heart/chest, with the swords coming out through the back. There is definitely a lot more blood, and like the last movie, you see Davey Jones' heart, but this time, it's a lot more gruesome (especially when seeing what happens to it throughout the plot).

The plot? I was EXTREMELY confused throughout the entire movie. I suggest that you watch the first AND second movies again to refresh your memory... then RE-WATCH the third movie a second time... because the plot intertwines a lot with the second, and they assume that you already know every single last detail and don't leave any room for rehashing the past. Yes, this may be obvious to you that this is definitely just the ending to the second movie, but there was so much more to it than just being a "third installment". At the beginning of this movie, you can tell that time had elapsed, but you are unsure as to how much time, or what has happened during that time. Later on in the movie, there is SO much dialogue, and everyone has different accents, that it kind of makes it hard to understand what they're saying. The characters also switch sides MANY times, and there are SO many deals/bargains/stabbing-in-the-back-moments, that you're unsure as to who has a deal with who, and who is on what side at what time. Overall, the plot was just EXTREMELY confusing as a whole. You can tell that the actors and the director know what's going on, but it's like one of those times when you're telling a funny story to your friend, but they just don't get it because you're assuming they were there with you and can fill in all the blanks. Moreover, there were also a few parts that were pretty silly and uneccesary, and made it seem like they were added for comic relief... but the movie was so intense that those parts just acted like annoying bumps in the plot.

The acting? Orlando Bloom was freakishly HOT, and his acting was so intense that you could almost feel his struggles/pain as your own. Keira Knightley was Keira... beautiful, intense, and dramatic, as always! I actually didn't see her as Keira at all... she was just a propper, elegant girl, turned bad @ss pirate! The chemistry between Orlando and Keira was also VERY tense and VERY there. As for Johnny Depp... who DOESN'T love Mr. Flamboyant Jack Sparrow?? Johnny was hilarious, loopy, and very much in his own world... which made it PERFECT for this movie. Also, you could feel a real hatred/tension between Johnny and Orlando's characters, making the plot all the more believable. The only PROBLEM I had with the acting was with CHOW YUN FAT. I grew up watching him in Hong Kong action movies, which he was awesome in because that's his thing: speaking cantonese and kicking butt. But in this movie, he had barely ANY action what-so-ever (which is a complete waste of his talent, if you ask me), and he spoke ENGLISH. There is nothing wrong with having him speak English... except it doesn't sound like an authentic broken English that you would hear when a real Singaporean Pirate King is trying to communicate... it sounded like a thickly accented TRAINED English that let you know that he was ACTING... making his character seem less authentic.

The movie FILM itself? The computer graphics were absolutely AMAZING!! Everything down to the very last raindrop was very impressive- you can tell they put not only A LOT of effort, but also a ton of PASSION into their work. Everything on screen made me feel like I was a pirate and part of the action... it really helped with the movie-going experience. If it weren't almost three hours long, I think I'd sit through it again JUST to see the graphics one more time on the big screen. Nothing looked cheesy; everything looked authenitc and very "piratey"... the people at ILM and Disney REALLY got it right for this movie.

THE MUSIC: One other thing I really enjoyed about this movie was THE SOUNDTRACK! It was SPECTACULAR... especially the very first song, which opened the movie. Very creepy, very touching, very powerful. (You can hear it in the youtube clip above!)

OVERALL? I give this movie a 3 out of 5. The only thing that didn't make it a 2 out of 5 is that the graphics and the character development were awesome... but the plot definitely had MAJOR FLAWS. Oh yeah, and the only comic relief came from two dirty pirates and A (very cute) DEMON MONKEY... now what does that tell you?

Walt Visits San Francisco!

In celebration of PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: AT WORLD'S END, here's a picture I managed to muster up from Halloween in Italy last fall where my friends Matt and Joe dressed were Pirates and I was Minnie Mouse!

Remember... the first showing of PIRATES is tonight at 8 PM!! (I've got my tickets for 3:15PM for tomorrow, since my bf's got early classes we can't see the midnight showing.. BUT, I will definitely give you my review the moment I've seen it! ... So far, it's gotten 51% (mixed reviews) on rottentomatoes. Here's hoping that it's better than what it's been reported to be!

In Disney Channel news... the brand spankin' new DCOM, Johnny Kapahala: Back on Board is officially OPEN! "High School Musical" before the Disney Channel made their own movie into an international hit! However, because theatres might not be able to afford a license to Disney's HSM, they are turning to Cozby's piece to get in on the action. (I'm sure you heard of this incident in the past, but if you haven't...) When asked about Cozby's views on Disney' HSM:

"'I was just very surprised,' he said. 'The plot elements are just very similar. If you put the two works side by side, the similarities are remarkable — obviously beginning with the title.'

Cozby's lawyer, Charles Baker of the Houston firm Porter & Hedges LLC, told Playbill.com that Cozby has filed suit against Disney Enterprises, 'claiming they stole his idea, claiming they infringed upon his trademark title [and] seeking damages and seeking an injunction" against the use of the title by Disney and, essentially, the continuation of the property.'"

Dreams Come True...?

Last night, I had a dream that while I was on vacation on a cruise, during our welcome dinner, Ashley Tisdale came out and sang her single, "Be Good To Me". After the show, I ran up to her and told her that I blog about her and I'm a huge fan, and then we took pictures together, became best friends, and then she gave me a job at Disney. Yes, people, dreams DO come true.. but I'm not sure this one will... so in saying that, I must keep the post short today so I can finally finish my Disney applications.

For any of you flying into Orlando, Florida, keep your eyes peeled for the new Star Wars ads that are posted around the airport in order to advertise the Stars Wars Weekends (for four consecutive weekends between June 1 to June 24), at Disney's MGM studios. While my bf's away at his best friend's graduation party... it's time to give in to that inner-(gossip)-girl and give you this tiny juicy update:

For a while, there has been speculation as to who Ashley Tisdale is dating. Rumors of a Zashley (Zac Efron/Ashley Tisdale) hook-up were shattered when photos and reports surfaced of an actual Zanessa (Zac Efron/Vanessa Hudgens) pair... but hsmusicalweb.org recently uncovered photos of Ashley and her "Be Good To Me" back up dancer, Jared Murillo walking around in Argentina! (ohh... so THAT's the Jared she's talking to in her youtube videos!) Here are a couple of pictures of them out on the town ... Say hello to... Jashley!! (p.s. I want her cap collection! Her outfits are SO casually adorrable! ... and that boy on her arm ain't that shabby either!)

Stars Get Starstruck Too!

Hey guys-

Busy day today, so let's get to it! ... Just two days ago, Ashley Tisdale posted a new video on her youtube site. I just thought it was SO CUTE, I had to post it... because just like how you and I might FREAK OUT upon hearing that we'd be meeting one of our own idols... Ashley was just the same when she received a SURPRISE meeting with Jessica Simpson. Yeah, I know it sounds a little bit silly for her to go all crazy over JESSICA, but as much as I'd hate to admit it... but I'd probably act the same exact way if I found out I were to meet Ashley! haha... so check it out!

I love how Ashley keeps her fans up to date via video posts on her youtube account... I was thinking about doing the same thing (cause I'm vain like that... not)... but then my boyfriend pointed out that 1. I don't have her celebrity ... and 2. WHO would actually want to watch it? ... so I decided to scrap the idea... but hey, you never know- you might actually see an entire post done through video one day! haha :D

On Sunday, May 14th, Aly and AJ celebrated their 18th and 16th birthdays by throwing one HUGE party!! (Which is kind of weird... cause Aly's birthday is on March 25th... and AJ's is on April 10th..) But anyhoo, here are a couple of pictures from the bash!

(Yup! That's Brenda Song *London Tipton from Suite Life* in the middle... isn't it crazy how short she is?? ... but then again... she's Asian! haha *And no, I'm not poking fun- I'm Asian too... at 5'3''!!*)

In other news, an extremely personal, undisclosed inside source tells me that artists for Pixar visited the San Francisco Ballet last weekend to sketch the ballerinas there! Now why would they do that? Would it be because their next project might POSSIBLY be about, or include, ballerinas? (This is all speculation!) ... But, if you need to study the art of ballerinas... why not go to the SFB? Afterall, they ARE THE BEST!

Here's something quite funny.. Disney is releasing it's very first CHINESE-LANGUAGED film!! I was really excited when I read this headline ('cause I'm Chinese, and having a Disney film in my parents' language would be pretty cool)... but then I read the entire article and realized that noooo, if Disney's gonna have a Chinese speaking film, it can't be actual Chinese people... they have to be ANIMATED, TALKING VEGETABLES!! Like a VeggieTales type thing... GRRR. It's going to be called The White Gourd, which is funny 'cause I had just finished my white-gourd-juicebox when I read the article. Anyhoo, when I have more time, I'd like to go into more detail about my thoughts on Disney and stereotypes (but more on that later!)

The post is going to be short today, I've got a huge essay due tomorrow (which, at the moment, I'm trying to get my teacher to let me write it on Beauty and the Beast instead of another horror movie, like Halloween... *yeah, yeah... I know B&TB isn't a horror movie but...* we're supposed to write about feminism, and "when the woman looks")... but anyhoo, let's get to it!

Blogger, Paleo-Future, has discovered that Walt Disney might not have been the first one to coin the term, "Imagineering".

"I had always assumed that someone at Disney had coined the term "Imagineering," until I came across an article from the May 2, 1947 Portsmouth Times (Portsmouth, Ohio) titled, "Black Light Magic." The article describes the work of Arthur C. Radebaugh and the caption to the picture above uses the term "Imagineering."

After doing some further research the earliest mention of the word I was able to find was in an Alabama newspaper from 1942."

Hey guys-

I've been EXTREMELY busy lately (finals are coming up, huge term papers are due, and I'm working on my Disney applications!) ...so I might not have enough time to post DAILY for the next couple of weeks, but I'll try my best to keep updating when important Disney news pops up.. (but lately, it's all been quite slow)... but don't fret! I definitely WILL keep you updated when the news starts picking up! :)

Lately, I've been reading books on Disney... especially this biography written about Walt Disney. It's extremely interesting so far and a fairly easy read! Click on the photo below for your very own copy from amazon.com!

If you still haven't seen Meet The Robinsons yet, I recommend going to see it before it leaves the theatres!! I've been thinking about it a lot lately, and it is quite an innovative movie. Okay, yes, it does have its little cheesy/quirky Disney parts, but overall, I believe there's a powerful and encouraging message that can be applied not only to the Disney company, but also to our everyday lives.

Also, I re-watched FANTASIA earlier today just to relax, and I completely FORGOT how brilliant it is!! Disney is a genius... the way the animation went along with the music was executed PERFECTLY! And the narrator/conductor breaks were extremely interesting (in a way, you could consider it somewhat of a DVD commentary), and the animation itself was uniquely fresh and revolutionary. If you haven't seen it yet- GO RENT/eBay IT!! End of story.

Earlier this afternoon, my boyfriend was reading my Complete Disney Encyclopedia from A to Z and was "quizzing" me on my Disney knowledge. I got most of his questions right, but one thing I was HOPING he wouldn't ask me is.. "What's the Prince's name from Snow White?" ... because I know Prince Eric is from The Little Mermaid, Prince Phillip is from Sleeping Beauty... and Prince Charming is from Cinderella... but when I thought about Snow White... the only name that came to my mind was ... PRINCE CHARMING... but in TWO movies?! There is also a comic called FABLES that is a story about fairytale characters living in modern day New York (you should check it out!) ... and the character, Prince Charming is a play-boy who is divorced from all three Cinderella, Snow White, and Briar Rose (Sleeping Beauty)... but I never actually thought about it until now.

So like a normal human being looking for answers, I looked it up on wikipedia... and THIS is what I found. It is a common belief in our society that PRINCE CHARMING is the prince in ALL THREE Disney movies (Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, and Cinderella). HOWEVER... Sleeping Beauty's prince is, in fact, Prince Phillip... and Cinderella and Snow White... ? Well... their princes have NO NAMES!! ... Well, okay, Snow White's prince is simply called "THE PRINCE"... but as for Cinderella's knight in shining armor:

"It should be noted that Cinderella's prince is never actually identified in the film as "Prince Charming," nor is there any clear reason why he has come to be known by that title in the Disney vernacular. He is not even described in the script as being particularly charming; that designation went to Snow White's beloved, as illustrated by the line "Anyone could see that the prince was charming, the only one for me."

... I know... WHAT?!!? ... oh well... he'll always be known as Prince Charming to me! ALSO, question #31 under "Disney History" on the actual Disney website "CLAIMS" his name is actually Prince Charming... hmmm... interrrrresting...

OH YEAH! And just to complete the Princess club (and for those of you who don't know)... Belle's prince has no "real" name- as a beast, and when he turns back into a human, he is always known as BEAST (or, "The Beast/ The Prince").

WELL.. after constantly seeing AHSLEY TISDALE everywhere I look these days, I decided to break down her STYLE and hopefully give you hints and ideas as to where to look! After going to the mall today, I found a lot of cute things that would TOTALLY be AshTisStyle! ... (Maybe you've never seen her wear these things.. but they totally could be things she would wear)- so keep reading on if you think Ashley's style is to die for! Ashley's JEANS look exactly like the style of Madison Destroyed Abercombie Jeans, or casual Cali Low Rise Jeans from Hollister.

The hats you would find on Ashley are that of cute baseball styled caps, like these from American Eagle

A lot of the spunky tops you might find on Ashley look like these from Forever 21:

Her sweatshirts come from, yet again, Hollister or Abercrombie and Fitch.

As for HAIR and MAKE UP... DO NOT FRET if your hair isn't long like Ashley's! ... and PLEASE don't bleach it to blonde! Ashley has said on MANY occassions that her hair is naturally DARK BROWN... but she had to dye her hair for The Suite Life... and she dyed it so many times that her hair died, broke, and FELL OFF starting at the shoulders!! ... so now, it takes about 5 hours to do her hair and her hair is SUPER LONG because of HAIR EXTENSIONS... so please don't dye your hair unless you must!

Usually, her hair isn't straight... but when it is, you can straighten your own hair with a flat iron! Just make sure to use a protectant, like that from Garnier... and don't do it when it is wet or damp!

Or, if you want the curly look (which it is naturally), you can use a curling iron, curling 1 inch sections at a time, then pinning it up and spraying it with a styling spray (until you have finished your entire head)... OR simply just go to your local stylist and ask for a "long wave" perm!

As for make up... as you can see, Ashley likes to keep it very dramatically natural- it's the casual California beach babe look. I'm not quite sure as to what products Ashley uses, but I can tell you my top picks (which work VERY well!)

First, for that Ashley-airbrushed look, start off with a clean face.

I absolutely LOVE St. Ives's facial cleansers! Their apricot micro-beads scrub away your old skin/dirt/blemishes without hurting your face... and they have a cleanser for EVERY skin type... so click on the picture to see which one's right for you! After that, use a cotton ball to lightly dab toner all over your face to even out your skin tone/whipe away all impurities! I use Burt's Bees Garden Tomato Toner. Then, PROTECT and MOISTURIZE your face with NEUTROGENA's OIL FREE MOISTURIZER: SPF 15

Next, cover up any blemishes you might have, and make a clean pallette on your face with a natural foundation. CoverGirls's TruBlend (whipped) foundations, though EXTREMELY light weight and NON GREASY, have great coverage!!

Then, to get that California-sun-kissed look, highlight your cheeks with a natural bronzed glow. The best is CARGO'S BeachBlush. I use the shade in CORAL BEACH, but that's because I'm a bit tanned- but don't fret- there are differen't color sets to choose from!

For a casual every-day style, DON'T pile on the eyeshadow! Like Ashley, I like to lightly line the top of my eyes to make them POP! Starting from where your eyelashes start... work from the inside, all the way to the outside of your eye with a skinny eyeshadow brush and a black smoky eyeshadow. You can use EYELINER, but since it is the summer, mine tends to melt! Therefore, I like to use MAC Eyeshadow with a base PRIMER underneath the eyeshadow (directly onto my lid) to make the shadow STICK. After you're done with the top lid, you can also outline the bottom of your eyes, but only do it on your lower eyelash line!

Finish off your eyes with MASCARA... but first, curl each set of eyelashes with a SHU UEMERA eyelash curler. Then, put two coats of DIOR SHOW Mascara on each eye. I like to use the waterproof one so that I know it won't smudge right off when it gets hot!

NOW... finish off your look with a light lip shade (perhaps a nude of shimmery pink), so as not to take attention away from your eyes. Most of the time, I just like to leave the house wearing chap stick (that'll moisturize your lips and protect them from the sun!) But for colour, I really like CARGO LIP DUOs (in SoHo, Bora Bora, or Machu Pichu). For regular gloss/chap stick, I always use BURT'S BEES or MURAD Pomegranate Lip Therapy: SPF 15.

The Hunt Around The Bay!

Hey guys-

I'm SO sorry that this post is late again... I've just had an extremely busy day, especially being back at home in the Yeay (Bay) Area! Today, I went to the mall with my cousin TiMO, and we shopped for both ourselves and also Mother's Day... we then had to drop off flowers at my godmother's house, and also my bff mom's house... and now we're back home. But, assuming that you'll all be busy tomorrow too, I will not be posting because it is MOTHER'S DAY! But anyhoo, let's get to it!

For my nanny (of about 18 years), tiMo and I joked that we would be giving her a car for Mother's Day. But being college students, we're BROKE, so tiMo asked, "how else would we get her a car?!" ... to which I responded, "Well, if you read my blog, you would know!" ... so, yes, kiddies, we are actually participating in THE HUNT aka Volvo's car hunt for a brand new XC90 in collarboration with the release of the third installment of Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean. So far, the clues have been slightly difficult, but we've gotten so far as to getting the Pirate's Map/Chart from our local VOLVO dealership.

Last night, after getting tired of The Hunt, tiMo, my youngest brother, Jeff, and I decided to compete in a friendly game of... HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL: The Board Game! Jeff had gotten the DVD board game for his birthday back in March, but this was the first time I had gotten a chance to try it out (since I have been away at school)... and let me tell you.. it is a game ONLY for hard core HSM fans!! Although I got MOST of the questions right, there were TONS of extremely detailed trivia questions; for example, What was the number written on Gabriella's text book when she put it in her locker?.... WHO would ever know this?? Other tough questions would ask you to stand up, and perform the "missing dance move"- this is when they'd play a clip of a dance routine in HSM, with ONE move (like a foot stomp) missing- very tricky (unless you watched the HSM Dance-A-Thon *which i did* !!) Easier questions included "fill out the missing song lyrics" and "Is this picture Actual or 'so not'?" Overall, even though it was on the more "hard" side, it was extremely fun and I totally recommend gettnig it if you don't have it already!

YoHo, YoHo, They Moved Up Pirates 3!!

Hey guys-

Sorry for the late post today! I had to pack up my things, visit the Whole Earth Festival on the UCD campus for a little bit, grab a quick lunch, then head on over back to the city (SF)!! I shopped in Union Square for about an hour, nothing spectacular, then picked up my cousin TiMo, then headed back home in the Bay Area (YEAY Areaa!!)

SO... let's get to it!! ... The release of PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN 3 is being PUSHED UP a few hours!! For fans who JUST CAN'T WAIT (even though there is a "midnight showing" for every movie that starts at 11:59 PM the night before)... Disney has changed the release date/time from Friday, May 25th, to... Thursday, MAY 24th at 8PM!!. As you can see, this gives Disney a full FOUR days to rack up the box office numbers for their opening weekend! ... Oh so tricky... just like a pirate!

In other news, Vanessa Hudgens has signed on to be the new celebrity spokesmodel for NEUTROGENA. Her first commercials have been shot, and will be aired starting May 26th!

According to sprouse-fans.com, Disney will be releasing a new The Suite Life of Zack and Cody DVD called "Sweet Suite Victory", which will be available in stores on August 7th. So far, the DVD will include (at least) four episodes, a Suite Life trivia game, and bloopers... however, the episodes selected have not yet been released.

Being Friday, tonight on DISNEY at THE MOVIES is on at 9PM ET/PT and will be showing Pixar's:

Disney Adventures!

Hey gang-

(This first part is not Disney related!) ... Last night was CRAZY! I went into the city (at the Fillmore) to see this awesome band that was pretty much rockin' the whole night. Before the show, two of their members even came out to do an acoustic three songed set before the opening act. The only problem with the show was that during a few songs, they turned their guitars up so much that you couldn't hear a single word out of the lead singer's mouth, and the music sounded a little muffled/muddy during those times. Other than that, they were grrrrreat! You should check out their music; click on the photo to check out BRMC's site!

Now.. back to Disney! After the concert, we stopped by Safeway for liquid (it was really hot in the venue, we were pushed up all the way up against the stage... front row!!), and I managed to FINALLY find a copy of the brand new DISNEY ADVENTURES issue.

As you can see, it is the MOVIE ISSUE! I can't scan all the pages, cause I'm sure that'd be illegal, but I can give you small inside scoops on what's in the issue throughout the month. For example... be nice to your pets or teach them new tricks... because this week is National Pet Week.

Okay, that was a bit silly.. but in this issue, you can find little golden nuggets of information, including:

Good news for couch potatoes out there!! Comcast is looking into releasing MOVIES out to their subscribers the SAME DAY as their theatre releases!! However, it is rumored that it could cost from $30 up to $50 a movie just to watch it at home. But thinking about prices for tickets (more than three-five people), gas cost, and cost of a babysitter, you might just have a great deal on your hands!

The Associated Press has come out with an article about HSM2 and also... a possibility of... HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL 3!!

What was it about the original movie - also filmed in Utah - that struck such a shockingly huge chord with young viewers? The music? The youthful cast of mostly Disney Channel veterans?

"I think they really identify with the kids, with these characters and the kids that are playing these characters," Ortega said.

Actor Bleu agrees. He says fans have come up to him to tell him how much the movie means to them.

"I definitely think they're going to follow us into this one," Bleu said.

And more than likely into a third film, which will be a feature for release in theaters, producer Bill Borden said.

"Originally we pitched three movies: the first one, school's out for summer and the final year with prom and graduation," Borden said.

That's because Drew filled in for TROY for the HSM Concert Tour because ZAC was busy filming Hairspray! And if you think about it... how convenient for ZAC to get a gig when the tour was happening.. cause how would he be able to sing live on the same key as everyone else?

This is somewhat funny because DREW was actually supposed to play TROY in HSM, but was busy filming something else at that time.

I have to keep it short today because I'm in the process of configuring blogger.com so that we can make this blog a more personalized and orderly one. Also, as most of you know, I'm applying for Disney careers, so I need to work on my applications today... thus, everything must be short! But after everything's done, I'll definitely update more!

So, did everyone manage to catch High School Musical: The Concert last night? I was out, but I did manage to tape it... and I am SO happy to say that it wasn't solely what was on the extra DVD with the HSM Concert CD!! They managed to squeeze in EVERY SINGLE SONG... and it was SPECTACULAR!! If you missed it, don't worry, you have until MAY 6 to check it out on disneychannel.com! AND if you miss that, you can always just buy a copy when it hits store June 26th!!

P.S. For all those interested in the new movie SPIDERMAN 3 (not at all disney related)... read on!

In my opinion, this movie wasn't as awesome as the first two. Because there were three villains in this installment, the movie seemed a little bit rushed to fit everything in, and their characters were all UNDER developed. At least in the first two movies, we saw that the Green Goblin and Doc Oc had stories and understandable MOTIVES behind their actions. We could feel for their character more... but in this movie, VENOM and The SANDMAN just seemed a bit... unreasonable. However, the Green Goblin's son, Harry, made a good villain because he had two previous movies to develop. They should have just picked ONE (suggestivly The Sandman) for this movie, and developed his character. However, the action sequences were pretty cool, and the cheesy/quirky dialogue was perfect for the nerdy PETER PARKER . There's also an awesome scene where he's dancing down the streets of NY. I'd watch the movie again JUST to see that part!! :D

As for a little tidbit in my life right now... today, on campus, I went to the Disney College Programs/Internships presentation at noon... it was quite interesting and insightful, but I thought they were recruiting people to work for the corporate side of Disney. Instead, they were recruiting people to work as labor at Walt Disney World. HOWEVER, this internship WILL give you a little boost in applying for other future Disney careers... IF YOU ARE 18 OR OLDER AND CURRENTLY ENROLLED IN COLLEGE, click on the photo below to get more information on how to apply for the program!

Today, I'm wearing my Pirates of the Caribbean t-shirt (although Spiderman comes out)... why? I don't really know... BUT, the release dates have been announced for the third installment. For those who AREN'T in the U.S. (PotC3 comes out MAY 25th), MANY of you guys (out there) will get to see the movie a day or two before us!! ... LUCKY!!

While the US will get their world Premier of Pirates of the Caribbean; At Worlds End on the 19th May in Disneyland, those without tickets will have to wait a little longer. Although 25th May isn’t that far off, other countries will have an advantage of one to two days. Indonesia and South Korea even more (taking the time zones in account). They’ll get to see it on the 23rd and with taking the time zone in account that is almost three days earlier.

Other countries on the list for a 23 May release date are: Belgium, Denmark, Egypt, Estonia, Finland, France, Netherlands and Sweden.

And those that get to see it on the 24 May are: Argentina, Australia, Austria, Germany, Hong Kong, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Malaysia, New Zealand, Portugal, Russia, Singapore Slovenia, UK and the United Arab Emirates.

On the 25th (the actual release date given on the official site) following countries will have their showings started are: Brazil, Bulgaria, Iceland, Israel, Japan, Mexico, Norway, Poland, South Africa, Spain, Turkey, USA and Venezuela.

Do you ever wonder what ever happened to your favourite Disney Channel star after their show has ended? Yeah yeah, we all know where HILARY DUFF aka Lizzie McGuire ended up. She has a new album, DIGNITY out, and she's preparing for a musical tour. She also stars in big-named movies such as A Cinderella Story, The Perfect Man, Material Girls, and Cheaper By the Dozen

And Shia LaBeouf aka Louis Stevens from EVEN STEVENS?? Yeah, we all know he's become a hot shot movie star starring in box-office hits such as The Greatest Game Ever Played and Disturbia. He's now signed on to be Indiana Jones's son in the new INDIANA JONES, and he also has the starring role in THE TRANSFORMERS.

and that's just a COUPLE of examples of Disney Channel kids who have made it big... BUT... what about their smaller co-stars? WELL, according to DISNEY 365, Annaliese van der Pol aka Chelsea Daniels from THAT'S SO RAVEN is now (since April 3rd) playing BELLE from BEAUTY AND THE BEAST on BROADWAY! Congrats to her!

However, it is announced that BEAUTY AND THE BEAST will be RETIRING from BROADWAY on JULY 29th, 2007 after THIRTEEN years!! so if you haven't seen it yet... GO GET YOUR TICKETS NOW!!

Also, G-Star has news on the DYLAN and COLE SPROUSE (aka Zac and Cody from The Suite Life of Zac and Cody)! Supposedly, they are signed on for a new movie about a modern twist on the classic, TOM SAWYER...

The G-Star Studios and G-Star School of the Arts in West Palm Beach, Florida, in association with Oak Films of Los Angeles, California, once again welcome Dylan & Cole Sprouse. Dylan & Cole will be starring in their second Oak Films produced feature project, known by the working title of: "Tom Sawyer - A Modern Twain Story". PUNK'D (aka THE VIDEO POST)

I'm sure the majority of you are familiar with Ashton Kutcher's MTV show, PUNK'D... but if you're not, here's the 411. This is a show where Ashton Kutcher goes around playing pranks on some of the hottest celebrities in Hollywood. Although these stars are being humiliated and put into intensely awkward and bizzare situations while being tricked for millions of television viewers to see, being PUNK'D means that YOU HAVE MADE IT IN SHOWBIZ!!... aka YOU ARE SOMEBODY! So you can only imagin how excited I was when I turned on my television to witness a SEASON PREVIEW of the new season of PUNK'D ... and lo-and-behold, you will never guess who gets PUNK'D!!

This was THE FUNNIEST PUNK'D episode I have EVER seen!! So basically what happens is that Ashley pays a visit to a hospital to visit all the sick children... and then she sees this one boy who had been in a coma for a month, and his mother asks her to sing to him. When the mother leaves, the boy wakes up and whispers, "pssst! i'm not really in a coma, i'm just pretending so that i won't have to go to school"... and the look on Ashley's face is HILARIOUS. I HAVE TO find a link to this video and show it to you guys- it's the best PUNK'D I've ever seen!!

Moving on... while looking for videos on YouTube.com of members from The Disney Channel Circle of Stars,... guess what I stumbled upon!
... Yup, THAT'S RIGHT! Before the new crew recorded A Dream Is a Wish Your Heart Makes (the video is shown on the very bottom right of this blog), the PAST members of The Disney Channel Circle of Stars recorded THIS:

SICK OF TELEVISION? (Although I highly doubt ANYONE could ever get sick of the Disney Channel)... then why don't you grab a parent/boyfriend/girlfriend/friend/child/etc... and go watch the NEW Disney Movie out in Theatres:

MEET THE ROBINSONS

Today, I dragged a very un-willing date along with me to see this movie (you see, he truly believes that he's too old for these types of movies... but being 21, my mindset is that YOU CAN NEVER OUTGROW DISNEY)- but after the movie, I was pleased to find out that my date actually enjoyed it! Yes, I must admit that the movie DID start out quite slowly (and the Mickey Mouse cartoon in the very beginning was pretty dry/boring)... but overall, this movie was highly interesting, funny, and held a couple of unexpected "twists" throughout. And just like Classic Disney style, there were a couple of tear-jerker moments... especially at the end. So if you haven't seen it yet, I HIGHLY recommend going to see it before it leaves theatres!!

However, I was somewhat disappointed to discover that the song, KIDS OF THE FUTURE by THE JONAS BROTHERS didn't make it into the movie... or even in the credits!! I felt ROBBED, especially since they kept advertising their music video on the Disney Channel for being on the soundtrack... but I guess that's where it made it: ONTO THE SOUNDTRACK, BUT NOT INTO THE MOVIE! ... boooo... oh well. :( if you don't know what I'm talking about, here's the music video for your viewing pleasure:

And I don't even know WHY I thought this song was going to make it into the movie (maybe because it's about the future?...), anyhoo, I must admit... I LOVE IT!! Here's the JONAS BROTHERS with YEAR 3000

Another movie you might want to check out is the new one, coming out from PIXARthis Summer. From the makers of Toy Story, Cars, Finding Nemo, The Incredibles, etc...... I present to you:

While we're on the topic of DISNEY MOVIES, does THIS image look familiar?

Oh, it does now, eh? Well that's because after Walt Disney parted with Columbia Pictures, he created his OWN film-distribution company in 1953 called Buena Vista Pictures Distribution, Inc. So, the reason why this image looks so familiar is because it has been in the opening credits of SO MANY Disney features including, Peter Pan, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, etc... as well as other television shows (i.e. Boy Meets World, Desperate Housewives, Live with Regis and Kelly, etc...) ... well, according to many different sources, DISNEY will be RETIRING BUENA VISTA starting MAY of 2007 ... :( Instead, they will be changing the name to (straight up) DISNEY in order to "leverage the Disney brand as much as possible and not [have] all these disparate names" oh well. peace out to Buena Vista!

Mark your calendars, "High School Musical" fans: The sequel to the worldwide phenomenon will premiere August 17th on Disney Channel. "High School Musical 2" stopped shooting a week ago. But Gary Marsh, entertainment president for Disney Channel Worldwide, provided a preview to the Orlando Sentinel. He was in town for the Disney Channel Games, which are being played at Wide World of Sports. Still bummed that she was upstaged in the first movie, Sharpay (Ashley Tisdale) plots her revenge. She arranges for Troy (Zac Efron) to land a summer job at her family's country club and tries to isolate him from his friends. He, however, brings his pals along to work at the club. Undeterred, Sharpay tempts Troy with opportunities. He loses his way and alienates his buddies. "The first one was about following your dreams," Marsh says. "This, thematically, is about: What’s important to me? Is it the material trappings of life that count? Or is it friends and family? This is Troy’s sense to locate his own personal moral compass and make sure he follows it."

Heroine Gabriella (Vanessa Anne Hudgens) doesn't like the changes she sees in Troy and tells him he has become a different person. She sings "I've Gotta Go My Own Way." The first "High School Musical" added "Get'cha Head in the Game" to the pop-culture lexicon. The second could do the same for "I Don't Dance," a song about baseball. "Kenny Ortega has choreographed an entire baseball game with a combination of swing and hiphop," Marsh says. "The game is played out through dance."

Then there's "You Are the Music in Me," a romantic ballad between Troy and Gabriella. "It will stop you in your tracks," Marsh says. Marsh says the goal wasn't to make a better movie than the original, but to deepen the characters and tell a more sophisticated story. "What did I have going for me? The exact same team. Every single one of the stars came back," Marsh says. Director Ortega and writer Peter Barsocchini returned as well.

"We had a brilliant team on the first one," Marsh says. "The best thing I could do was reassemble them for the second one. That’s what I did." The marketing for the sequel will be marginally bigger than that for the original. "Our audience knows this movie is coming," Marsh says. "They couldn’t be more excited to see it. We just need to put it out in front of them and they’ll come."

A third "High School Musical," to be shown in theaters, is planned to premiere next year. Conversations about the actors returning for that project have just begun, Marsh says.

Can't get enough High School Musical??!! ... well, me neither! After hitting the top of the charts in album sales and singles-popularity... after translating "Breaking Free" into more than 5 different languages.. and after releasing, then RE-releasing, the DVD as many times possible... after all the posters, board games, and whatever memorabilia you can think of, they've done it again!

No, the HSM in Concert tour around America is old news... BUT now that the tour is over and the cash flow is slowing down... they've rolled to Plan B while High School Musical 2 is being filmed: High School Musical is coming out with a LIVE IN CONCERT DVD and CD!

They made such an adorrable singing duo in High School Musical... so why wouldn't they in real life? There had been speculation ever since the two had been spotted together at premieres, and even more gossip once he popped up in as her love interest in her first music video Say Ok

... and although both Vanessa Hudgens and Zac Efron claim they are "just friends" (oh, please!)... proof has recently leaked that confirms that these two ARE in fact dating!

From J-14 Magazine.."According to up-and-coming hottie Max Theriot, the jig is up for HSM's two gorgeous stars---Zanessa lives! J-14 interviewed Max, who appears in this spring's The Astronaut Farmer and who you'll see starring as Emma Roberts' boy toy in June's Nancy Drew movie. During the interview, J-14 asked Max whether or not he and Emma used any tricks to amp up their on-screen chemistry, because Zac and Vanessa had mentioned to us that their HSM director made them watch Romeo & Juliet together to increase theirs. ASHLEY TISDALE (Candy-counter girl, Maddie from The Suite Life of Zack and Cody and ditsy-blonde Sharpay from Highschool Musical) has followed in fellow Disney Channel star, HILARY DUFF's footsteps. Just like how Lizzie McGuire transformed herself into a mega-hit singing popstar (on AND off the show), Ashley Tisdale has gone from the Disney Channel's most sought-after star (this is after Alyson Michalka, aka Keely Teslow, had finished her Phil of the Future Stint) to a sweeter, fresher, cleaner, bombshell of Britney Spears' past.

I know what you're thinking: "OH, it's just another one of the actresses trying to increase their fortunes by starting a singing career..." BUT, children, play nice! Ashley actually isn't all that bad! Besides a couple of her slow ballads, the majority of her songs off her album Headstrong are pretty catchy. To top it off, her new video Be Good To Me premiered on TRL last Friday.

Yes, people, I'm talking about DISNEY. My lifelong dream (besides marrying Johnny Depp and becoming a famous rock star) has been to become the editor of the Disney Adventures magazine.. BUT, after trying to contact Disney a few too many times to count (they won't even tell me if it's POSSIBLE to even get in touch with the Magazine itself... or even if there is a human being running it), I've decided to run my own blog about everything DISNEY!
