Headstrong: Ashley Tisdale's Style

Hey guys-

Ever saw a cute outfit on a celebrity and went, "MAN! I wish I had her style!" ... and then went to the mall and couldn't find ANYTHING you were looking for? WELL.. after constantly seeing AHSLEY TISDALE everywhere I look these days, I decided to break down her STYLE and hopefully give you hints and ideas as to where to look! After going to the mall today, I found a lot of cute things that would TOTALLY be AshTisStyle! ... (Maybe you've never seen her wear these things.. but they totally could be things she would wear)- so keep reading on if you think Ashley's style is to die for! As you can see, her sweatshirt is from HOLLISTER. HCO is a very California-Girl/Beach Bum/Laid back style- their sweatshirts are really comfortable, affordable, and adorrable!

Now this look is ALL about layers... once again, FOREVER 21 has a bunch of basic/plain essentials you can use to pile up and create a unique look!

Overall, if it's not funky... or styled for Maddie (TSL) or SHARPAY (HSM), Ashley's style is very All-American Girl, casual chic! Most of the stuff you would see on her, walking down the street, you could find at your local mall.

Ashley's JEANS look exactly like the style of Madison Destroyed Abercombie Jeans, or casual Cali Low Rise Jeans from Hollister.





The hats you would find on Ashley are that of cute baseball styled caps, like these from American Eagle





A lot of the spunky tops you might find on Ashley look like these from Forever 21:



Her sweatshirts come from, yet again, Hollister or Abercrombie and Fitch.





As for HAIR and MAKE UP... DO NOT FRET if your hair isn't long like Ashley's! ... and PLEASE don't bleach it to blonde! Ashley has said on MANY occassions that her hair is naturally DARK BROWN... but she had to dye her hair for The Suite Life... and she dyed it so many times that her hair died, broke, and FELL OFF starting at the shoulders!! ... so now, it takes about 5 hours to do her hair and her hair is SUPER LONG because of HAIR EXTENSIONS... so please don't dye your hair unless you must!



Usually, her hair isn't straight... but when it is, you can straighten your own hair with a flat iron! Just make sure to use a protectant, like that from Garnier... and don't do it when it is wet or damp!



Or, if you want the curly look (which it is naturally), you can use a curling iron, curling 1 inch sections at a time, then pinning it up and spraying it with a styling spray (until you have finished your entire head)... OR simply just go to your local stylist and ask for a "long wave" perm!



As for make up... as you can see, Ashley likes to keep it very dramatically natural- it's the casual California beach babe look. I'm not quite sure as to what products Ashley uses, but I can tell you my top picks (which work VERY well!)

First, for that Ashley-airbrushed look, start off with a clean face.

I absolutely LOVE St. Ives's facial cleansers! Their apricot micro-beads scrub away your old skin/dirt/blemishes without hurting your face... and they have a cleanser for EVERY skin type... so click on the picture to see which one's right for you! After that, use a cotton ball to lightly dab toner all over your face to even out your skin tone/whipe away all impurities! I use Burt's Bees Garden Tomato Toner. Then, PROTECT and MOISTURIZE your face with NEUTROGENA's OIL FREE MOISTURIZER: SPF 15



Next, cover up any blemishes you might have, and make a clean pallette on your face with a natural foundation. CoverGirls's TruBlend (whipped) foundations, though EXTREMELY light weight and NON GREASY, have great coverage!!





Then, to get that California-sun-kissed look, highlight your cheeks with a natural bronzed glow. The best is CARGO'S BeachBlush. I use the shade in CORAL BEACH, but that's because I'm a bit tanned- but don't fret- there are differen't color sets to choose from!





For a casual every-day style, DON'T pile on the eyeshadow! Like Ashley, I like to lightly line the top of my eyes to make them POP! Starting from where your eyelashes start... work from the inside, all the way to the outside of your eye with a skinny eyeshadow brush and a black smoky eyeshadow. You can use EYELINER, but since it is the summer, mine tends to melt! Therefore, I like to use MAC Eyeshadow with a base PRIMER underneath the eyeshadow (directly onto my lid) to make the shadow STICK. After you're done with the top lid, you can also outline the bottom of your eyes, but only do it on your lower eyelash line!



Finish off your eyes with MASCARA... but first, curl each set of eyelashes with a SHU UEMERA eyelash curler. Then, put two coats of DIOR SHOW Mascara on each eye. I like to use the waterproof one so that I know it won't smudge right off when it gets hot!





NOW... finish off your look with a light lip shade (perhaps a nude of shimmery pink), so as not to take attention away from your eyes. Most of the time, I just like to leave the house wearing chap stick (that'll moisturize your lips and protect them from the sun!) But for colour, I really like CARGO LIP DUOs (in SoHo, Bora Bora, or Machu Pichu). For regular gloss/chap stick, I always use BURT'S BEES or MURAD Pomegranate Lip Therapy: SPF 15.

Happy Mother's Day from MadHatter Disney!

The Hunt Around The Bay!

Hey guys-

I'm SO sorry that this post is late again... I've just had an extremely busy day, especially being back at home in the Yeay (Bay) Area! Today, I went to the mall with my cousin TiMO, and we shopped for both ourselves and also Mother's Day... we then had to drop off flowers at my godmother's house, and also my bff mom's house... and now we're back home. But, assuming that you'll all be busy tomorrow too, I will not be posting because it is MOTHER'S DAY! But anyhoo, let's get to it!

For my nanny (of about 18 years), tiMo and I joked that we would be giving her a car for Mother's Day. But being college students, we're BROKE, so tiMo asked, "how else would we get her a car?!" ... to which I responded, "Well, if you read my blog, you would know!" ... so, yes, kiddies, we are actually participating in THE HUNT aka Volvo's car hunt for a brand new XC90 in collarboration with the release of the third installment of Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean. So far, the clues have been slightly difficult, but we've gotten so far as to getting the Pirate's Map/Chart from our local VOLVO dealership.

Last night, after getting tired of The Hunt, tiMo, my youngest brother, Jeff, and I decided to compete in a friendly game of... HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL: The Board Game! Jeff had gotten the DVD board game for his birthday back in March, but this was the first time I had gotten a chance to try it out (since I have been away at school)... and let me tell you.. it is a game ONLY for hard core HSM fans!! Although I got MOST of the questions right, there were TONS of extremely detailed trivia questions; for example, What was the number written on Gabriella's text book when she put it in her locker?.... WHO would ever know this?? Other tough questions would ask you to stand up, and perform the "missing dance move"- this is when they'd play a clip of a dance routine in HSM, with ONE move (like a foot stomp) missing- very tricky (unless you watched the HSM Dance-A-Thon *which i did* !!) Easier questions included "fill out the missing song lyrics" and "Is this picture Actual or 'so not'?" Overall, even though it was on the more "hard" side, it was extremely fun and I totally recommend gettnig it if you don't have it already!

YoHo, YoHo, They Moved Up Pirates 3!!

Hey guys-

Sorry for the late post today! I had to pack up my things, visit the Whole Earth Festival on the UCD campus for a little bit, grab a quick lunch, then head on over back to the city (SF)!! I shopped in Union Square for about an hour, nothing spectacular, then picked up my cousin TiMo, then headed back home in the Bay Area (YEAY Areaa!!)

SO... let's get to it!! ... The release of PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN 3 is being PUSHED UP a few hours!! For fans who JUST CAN'T WAIT (even though there is a "midnight showing" for every movie that starts at 11:59 PM the night before)... Disney has changed the release date/time from Friday, May 25th, to... Thursday, MAY 24th at 8PM!!. As you can see, this gives Disney a full FOUR days to rack up the box office numbers for their opening weekend! ... Oh so tricky... just like a pirate!

In other news, Vanessa Hudgens has signed on to be the new celebrity spokesmodel for NEUTROGENA. Her first commercials have been shot, and will be aired starting May 26th!

According to sprouse-fans.com, Disney will be releasing a new The Suite Life of Zack and Cody DVD called "Sweet Suite Victory", which will be available in stores on August 7th. So far, the DVD will include (at least) four episodes, a Suite Life trivia game, and bloopers... however, the episodes selected have not yet been released.





Being Friday, tonight on DISNEY at THE MOVIES is on at 9PM ET/PT and will be showing Pixar's:

Disney Adventures!

Hey gang-

(This first part is not Disney related!) ... Last night was CRAZY! I went into the city (at the Fillmore) to see this awesome band that was pretty much rockin' the whole night. Before the show, two of their members even came out to do an acoustic three songed set before the opening act. The only problem with the show was that during a few songs, they turned their guitars up so much that you couldn't hear a single word out of the lead singer's mouth, and the music sounded a little muffled/muddy during those times. Other than that, they were grrrrreat! You should check out their music; click on the photo to check out BRMC's site!





Now.. back to Disney! After the concert, we stopped by Safeway for liquid (it was really hot in the venue, we were pushed up all the way up against the stage... front row!!), and I managed to FINALLY find a copy of the brand new DISNEY ADVENTURES issue.



As you can see, it is the MOVIE ISSUE! I can't scan all the pages, cause I'm sure that'd be illegal, but I can give you small inside scoops on what's in the issue throughout the month. For example... be nice to your pets or teach them new tricks... because this week is National Pet Week.

Okay, that was a bit silly.. but in this issue, you can find little golden nuggets of information, including:
