IMAGINEER THAT!

Hey guys-

The post is going to be short today, I've got a huge essay due tomorrow (which, at the moment, I'm trying to get my teacher to let me write it on Beauty and the Beast instead of another horror movie, like Halloween... *yeah, yeah... I know B&TB isn't a horror movie but...* we're supposed to write about feminism, and "when the woman looks")... but anyhoo, let's get to it!

Blogger, Paleo-Future, has discovered that Walt Disney might not have been the first one to coin the term, "Imagineering".

"I had always assumed that someone at Disney had coined the term "Imagineering," until I came across an article from the May 2, 1947 Portsmouth Times (Portsmouth, Ohio) titled, "Black Light Magic." The article describes the work of Arthur C. Radebaugh and the caption to the picture above uses the term "Imagineering."

[wikipedia states:] 'WED Enterprises applied for a trademark for the term in 1967, claiming first use in 1962.'

After doing some further research the earliest mention of the word I was able to find was in an Alabama newspaper from 1942."

I find this extremely upsetting because I always enjoy the Disney Channel's television slots when different Disney Channel stars would do creative and artistic things, and end with.. "You, me, and Disney Channel- Imagineer that!"

In other news, Disney has sent slashfilm.com THIRTEEN new promo photos from the new movie, Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End!!

Click on the photo below to go to the site and check out the rest of them!

IF YOU'RE A HUGE FAN OF DONALD DUCK... you DO NOT want to miss this!! ... someone on ebay.com is selling his ENTIRE Donald Duck collection which consists of 1,200 UNIQUE Donald Duck collectibles... some dating all the way back to 1934!!

10% of the proceeds will go to The American Red Cross... the auction ends in FOUR days (May 20th, 7:27 PM)... click on the picture below to START BIDDING!!

Not to give in to stereotypes... but one thing I think about when I think about Japanese pop culture is... Hello Kitty. You know, the whole Japanese-school-girl's obession with CUTE THINGS! Well, according to a recent survey on whatjapanthinks.com... TWO other characters actually BEAT OUT their beloved HELLO KITTY.. making her number THREE on the "Japan's Cutest Character" list!

That's right, Disney fans... our very own Mickey Mouse took the second spot... and POOH BEAR was rated at NUMBER ONE!
